3:1 Analogous

~ I found this word during my reading of "Teaching Reading in The ContentAreas: If Not Me, Then Who?" Page 4, Second Paragraph.

~"reading and writing are two analogous and complementary processes"
(No clue what the word means in this context)
Dictionary.com Definition: Corresponding in some particular.

~I have seen this word occasionally throughout my college studies but have never taken the time to look it up.

~I believe this word will be used quite a bit in my vocabulary as I continue my education. This is a great word to replace "similar." I am fond of 'useful' vocabulary terms.

~I think this is definitely a good vocabulary word for my classmates and students to know because this word can replace an all day everyday used word (similar) and might be useful. It is always good to increase your awareness of the use of language, especially within its context.
